1. Who we are
Dalilna is provided by Dalilna, registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number —, with its address at the Netherlands. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Dalilna, and “you” refers to anyone who uses the Dalilna app.
You can reach us at any time by email at privacy@dalilna.app.
2. Accepting these terms and changes
By installing or using Dalilna you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. If a change is significant, we will let you know in the app before it takes effect and give you reasonable time to review it. If you continue to use Dalilna after the change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
3. Who can use Dalilna
You can browse Dalilna without an account. To create an account and post content you must be at least 16 years old. If you are younger than 16, you may only create an account with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who is then responsible for your use of the app.
4. Your account
Dalilna uses passwordless sign-in: we send a one-time code to your email address each time you sign in. Because anyone with access to your inbox could sign in as you, please keep your email account secure.
- An account is personal: one person per account, and do not share your account or sign-in codes with others.
- Provide accurate information and keep your email address up to date.
- Do not create accounts in someone else’s name or create multiple accounts to get around a restriction.
- Let us know at privacy@dalilna.app straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.
5. The service and the information in it
Dalilna is a free directory. Listings are compiled from public sources, from suggestions and votes by users, and from businesses that manage their own listing. We do our best to keep information current, but we cannot check every detail and we do not guarantee that it is complete or correct.
- Halal status: labels and certificates shown in the app are for information only. We do not certify anything as halal. If it matters to you, ask the place directly or check the certifying body.
- Opening hours, addresses, phone numbers and services can change without notice. Check with the place before you travel.
- Prayer times are calculated estimates based on your location and the calculation method you choose. The times announced by your local mosque always prevail.
- Nothing in Dalilna is a religious ruling (fatwa) or religious advice. For religious questions, please consult a qualified scholar or your local imam.
Reviews and ratings reflect the personal opinions of the users who wrote them, not our opinion.
6. Your content
Dalilna lets you contribute content, such as reviews, ratings, photos, votes on facts about a place, reports and suggested edits (“your content”).
You remain the owner of your content. By posting it, you give Dalilna a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, display and adapt your content (for example, resizing photos or translating text) to the extent needed to operate, improve and promote Dalilna. This licence ends when you delete your content or your account, except for copies kept for a limited time in backups, content that has already been shared with others in a way we cannot undo, and copies we must keep to comply with the law or to handle a dispute.
By posting content you confirm that:
- you created it yourself or have the necessary rights and permissions to share it;
- it is based on your own genuine experience and is not misleading;
- it does not infringe anyone’s rights, such as copyright, privacy or portrait rights — for example, do not post recognisable photos of people without their permission;
- it complies with Dutch and EU law and with our Community Guidelines.
You are responsible for the content you post. We do not check content before it is published, but we may review it afterwards (see section 8).
7. Businesses and claimed listings
If you own, manage or work for a business or organisation listed in Dalilna, you can claim its listing. By claiming a listing you confirm that you are authorised to act on its behalf.
- We may ask you to prove this, for example through a code sent to the business phone number or email address, or a recent extract from the Chamber of Commerce (KvK). We may refuse or withdraw a claim if verification fails or if we have doubts.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you add or change, including opening hours, announcements, offers and any halal certificates. Only upload certificates that are genuine, valid and actually apply to your business.
- You may reply to reviews, but replies must be factual and respectful. Do not threaten, insult or disclose personal information about reviewers.
- Reviews cannot be bought, sold or removed in exchange for payment or any other benefit. You can report a review that you believe breaks our guidelines, and we will assess it like any other report.
- Do not write reviews of your own business or of competitors, and do not ask, pay or reward others to write fake or biased reviews.
If you break these rules, we may remove your management rights for the listing, in addition to the measures in section 8.
8. Moderation
To keep Dalilna safe and reliable, we may act against content or accounts that break the law, these terms or our Community Guidelines. Depending on how serious and how frequent the violation is, we may:
- remove content or limit its visibility, for example by hiding a review;
- correct or lock information on a listing;
- give you a warning;
- temporarily suspend your account or certain features;
- terminate your account in serious or repeated cases.
In line with the EU Digital Services Act, when we restrict your content or account we will tell you what we did and why (a statement of reasons), unless the law prevents us from doing so. If you disagree with a decision, you can appeal by emailing privacy@dalilna.app within six months. A person, not just an automated system, will review your appeal and we will let you know the outcome. This does not affect your right to go to court.
9. Reporting and blocking
If you see content in Dalilna that you believe is illegal or breaks our guidelines, please report it using the report option in the app or by emailing privacy@dalilna.app. Explain why you think it is illegal or inappropriate and, where possible, where exactly it appears. We handle reports carefully, objectively and without undue delay, and we will let you know what we decided. Do not misuse the reporting function by knowingly submitting false reports.
You can also block other users. Once you block someone, you will no longer see their reviews and content in the app.
10. What you may not do
When using Dalilna, you agree not to:
- copy, scrape, crawl or systematically collect data from the app, by automated means or otherwise, without our written permission;
- decompile, reverse engineer or try to access the app’s source code, servers or databases, except where the law expressly allows it;
- interfere with, overload or disrupt the app or its security;
- harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against others;
- send spam, advertising or chain messages, or post the same content repeatedly;
- impersonate another person, business or organisation, or misrepresent your connection with them;
- post false, misleading or illegal content;
- use Dalilna for any illegal purpose or in a way that harms other users, businesses or us.
11. Our intellectual property
The Dalilna app, including its design, software, logo, name and the way information is compiled and presented, belongs to Dalilna or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the app for its intended, non-commercial purpose. You may not use our name or logo without our permission.
12. Third-party services
Dalilna works together with services from other companies. For example, maps are displayed using a third-party map provider, tapping “directions” opens Apple Maps or Google Maps, links may take you to a business’s website or social media, and tapping a phone number starts a call through your phone.
These services are not controlled by us. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
13. Availability and offline use
We work hard to keep Dalilna running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee that the app will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may carry out maintenance, change or remove features, or, with reasonable notice, stop offering the service.
Some information may be stored on your device so you can use parts of the app offline. Offline information may be out of date until your device reconnects.
14. Liability
Dalilna is provided free of charge. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage resulting from incorrect or outdated listing information, content posted by other users or businesses, the use of third-party services, or the app being temporarily unavailable.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under mandatory law, including consumer protection law.
You are responsible for how you use the app and for the content you post. If you break these terms or the law and a third party holds us liable as a result, you are responsible for that, to the extent permitted by law.
15. Ending your use of Dalilna
You can stop using Dalilna at any time. You can delete your account in the app under Account > Privacy. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or our Community Guidelines, if required by law, or if your account has been inactive for a long time. Except in urgent cases, such as fraud, abuse or a legal obligation, we will inform you in advance and tell you why. You can appeal the decision as described in section 8.
Sections that by their nature should continue to apply after your account ends — such as the licence for content kept in backups, liability and governing law — remain in effect.
16. Privacy
We take your privacy seriously. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. You can read it in the app.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may also bring a claim before the courts there.
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at privacy@dalilna.app. We will try to resolve it together with you quickly and fairly.
If a provision of these terms turns out to be invalid, the remaining provisions continue to apply, and the invalid provision will be replaced by a valid one that comes as close as possible to its original purpose.
