Support & FAQ

Quick answers to the most common questions about Dalilna.

Account & privacy

How do I sign in?

No password needed. On the Account screen tap “Sign in”, enter your email address and tap “Send code”. We email you a 6-digit code — type it in the app and continue. We never show your email publicly.

No code? Check your spam folder, make sure the address is spelled correctly, then request a new code. Sign in with Apple and Google is coming later.

Note: you can search, browse the map and use prayer times without an account. You only need one to write reviews, contribute and claim a business.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app: AccountPrivacy & dataDelete accountDelete permanently. This removes your account, reviews, votes, reports, claims and blocks. It can’t be undone.

On the same screen you can also Download my data (a JSON file), turn off anonymous statistics and clear your search history. Can’t get into the app? See the delete account page to request deletion by email.

Do you sell my data or show ads?

No. We never sell your data and don’t show ads. Your location is only used on your device when you ask for nearby places. Anonymous usage statistics are never linked to your name or email, and you can switch them off in AccountPrivacy & data. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Places & businesses

How do I claim my business?
  1. Open your place in the app and tap “Claim this business”.
  2. Sign in with your email (we need an account to contact you about your claim).
  3. Choose how to verify: the listed phone number, a business email, or your KvK registration with an extract from the trade register.
  4. We review your claim and let you know in your in-app inbox.

Once approved you can update opening hours, photos and news, and reply to reviews. Claiming is free. Public institutions can’t be claimed — suggest an edit instead.

A listing is wrong or the place has closed. How do I report it?

Open the place and tap Suggest an edit / report a problem, choose a reason (permanently closed, wrong hours, not halal, duplicate…) and add details if you like. Our moderators will check it and update Dalilna.

To add a missing place, use “Add a place”. You can always email us at support@dalilna.app.

How do I report an abusive review or user?

Tap the “…” menu next to the review and choose “Report review” or “Report user”. Reports are confidential — the person won’t know who reported them. You can also block the person and manage blocked people in AccountPrivacy. Read our Community Guidelines.

How do you know a place is halal?

We show what we know about each place’s halal status and its source when available (such as a halal certificate), and the community votes on details like “halal?”. This information is a guide only — if you’re unsure, ask the place directly, and tell us if something is wrong.

Prayer & the app

How are prayer times calculated?

Times are calculated on your device using the Muslim World League method, with the standard (Shafi‘i) Asr and the recommended high-latitude rule for the Netherlands, where twilight lasts long in summer. The Qibla direction is calculated from your city’s location.

Your mosque’s iqamah / congregation times may differ from the astronomical times — check the mosque’s page in the app or ask the mosque.

How do I change the language?

Dalilna follows your phone’s language (Arabic, English or Turkish); Arabic is used if your phone is set to a language we don’t support yet. You can change the language at any time in Settings.

Is the app free? When is it coming out?

Yes, Dalilna is free. It’s coming soon to iPhone and Android — get early access or follow us on Instagram @dalilna.
